An Infographic about the Rise of Homeowners Associations

Nowadays, all you hear in the news is about how homeowners associations are ruining our society and all the negative aspects that go with that argument. Few times, if ever, do you hear the positive effects HOAs bring to our neighborhoods, and how those positive effects have changed our concept of a neighborhood forever. With that in mind, it was truly surprising to run into this great infographic, from HOATown.com, that outlines just how much HOAs have taken over our neighborhoods, in addition to how this isn’t as bad of a thing as the media seems to make it out to be! Check it out!

As you can see, HOAs have largely become the norm–particularly in the United States–and yet, even with the horror stories you hear every day, 90% of residents are happy with their board members and 78% believe their HOA makes their neighborhood a better place. It just goes to show you that what you hear on the news isn’t always a truly unfiltered view of the world and–perhaps more importantly–HOAs are here to stay.

They aren’t going anywhere, and that just might be a good thing! So, I’ll end this short post with this; for all you board members out there who don’t believe in their HOA, just remember that the association should be a positive force on your neighborhood. If they aren’t fulfilling this duty, or if your current HOA management company is holding you back from realizing this purpose, then it might be time for a change. Fortunately, Spectrum HOA Management is here to help; click here to submit a bid so you can help your association do what it’s supposed to do: make your neighborhood a better place for all.
